Cherries and goodbyes

Its cherry season now. In town, there are many stalls piled high with bright red cherries. Tender, sweet, juicy cherries that will stain your lips a lovely rose colour when you eat them. Yes, its been a long time since I've updated this blog and here I am rambling about cherries. But forgive me for the last time i gorged on these heavenly fruits were when dad bought some home when I was still a wee kid in the states. Good times they were...good times indeed.

I had a major presentation yesterday. 1 hour of presenting my research in front of all the postgrad students and the faculty. It was part of the probation review for the upcoming upgrading process (next year). I've been preparing for it for the last 4 weeks, staying up until 11 with my supervisor. Alhamdulillah, it went well. Very well :)..I managed to answer all the questions and even made a joke or two. Yeay! I'm very happy that all the effort so far has been worth it, those sleepless nights and missed meals.

Anyway, after the presentation I felt the need to celebrate a bit. Went to Syabil's for a bbq and helped myself to delicious chicken, sausages and satay!!!

Today, my two adopted siblings here, eza n aqil, left to spend their summer back home. It'll be another 3 months til I get to meet them again. Cried a little as goodbyes were said.  I can't imagine the next 3 months without them. Its strange actually, how close we all got just these few months since I got here. They helped me banish my homesickness and replaced it with laughter, fun and friendship. Both of you will be missed badly :'(

Ok, I still owe posts on my trip to Paris n Disneyland. Now that I'm a bit free, I'll prolly do that soon.

TTFN!
